No pearls in this necklace

No pearls in this necklace

Postby zatara » Sat Aug 22, 2009 10:36 am

I have a Deltah box, hang tag, guarantee, and chamois that I remember seeing in my mother's bureau in the 1950's and it may date from the 30s or 40s. The hang tag says Style 2030 Clasp Ens and $7.00

The Guarantee also says $7. The box has a channel for the choker and wells for dangling earrings.

What should be in the box?

What is there is a necklace and earring set that fit the channels and consist of graduated translucent round pink glass(?) beads, "gold" separator rings, smaller clear beads. Necklace is strung on chain.

My guess is pearls came in the box and this vintage bead necklace and earring set came to rest in the box after the pearls went to who knows where.

Is my guess correct? Or, is this a war-time alternative to pearls? Or, ??? Thanks !!!!

The Box most likely contained a strand of simulated Deltah pearls and matching earrings.
